Customs And Border Protection: On The Job

It appears that Customs and Border Protection was on the job Christmas Day and had flagged Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab for secondary inspection. http://www.latimes.com/news/nation-and-world/la-na-airline-terror7-2010jan07,0,7706989.story (h/t Strata-Sphere http://strata-sphere.com/blog/index.php/archives/12197)

AJStrata thinks the Christmas Bomber was part of a conspiracy by boobs or traitors in the Obama Regime, which, given their background is a solid call, but it is more likely incompetance on the part of the Department of State and the National Counter-Terrorism Center. Or, as I have explained, their lack of concern for America. http://federaleagent86.blogspot.com/2010/01/fingerpointing-begins.html

But kudos to CBP who had flagged the terrorist and were going to give him the once over. At least Janet Reno Napolitano has not completely neutered CBP......yet. That is on the agenda, just as ICE has been neutered. http://federaleagent86.blogspot.com/2009/10/announcing-end-of-work-site-enforcement.html But, should you have not instructed the airline to return to the port of origin and disembark him?

Just remember CBP officers, you have a thankless job and prima donnas like Michael Yon don't make it easier.
