The Regime Preps The Battlefield

The Obama Regime's behind the scenes orchestration of the drumbeat for an expansion of the Obama Regime Administrative Amnesty continues apace with new information planted in a sympathetic press and new personnel placed in the Regime for the upcoming full Administrative Amnesty.

First, the Regime's chosen method for the upcoming amnesty:  parole-in-place:

Christian Science Monitor December 9, 2013 by Lourdes Medrano (I guess she has be pigeon-holed for the barrio beat)
The Obama administration has issued a directive on illegal immigration that allows undocumented immigrants who are closely related to military personnel to stay in the country. The order comes amid mounting pressure on President Obama.
Facing intense pressure from immigrant advocates who want the president to do more to limit deportations, the Obama administration has quietly issued a directive to help undocumented immigrants who are closely related to military personnel stay in the country.
The effort is called "parole in place," and it aims to end rampant confusion among immigration officials about how to treat the parents, spouses, and minor children of those in active duty as well as veterans and reservists. Under parole in place, these relatives no longer have to leave the country to apply for legal US status – a situation that often resulted in the applicants being barred from reentering the US for years.

However, the authority to "parole-in-place" does not exist.  The law governing parole is quite restrictive and applies only to aliens outside the United States.

Title 8 of the United States Code, Section 1182:

(A) The Attorney General may, except as provided in subparagraph (B) or in section 1184 (f) of this title, in his discretion parole into the United States temporarily under such conditions as he may prescribe only on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit any alien applying for admission to the United States, but such parole of such alien shall not be regarded as an admission of the alien and when the purposes of such parole shall, in the opinion of the Attorney General, have been served the alien shall forthwith return or be returned to the custody from which he was paroled and thereafter his case shall continue to be dealt with in the same manner as that of any other applicant for admission to the United States.

There it is, only an alien outside the United States is eligible for parole.  Even so-called advanced parole is actually a parole, it is an application for parole filed before the alien arrives, and only available to those aliens lawfully present at the time they applied to adjust status or for certain illegal aliens covered by the now long expired Section 245(i) waiver.

So, the method of the upcoming amnesty is illegal.  What of the act itself?  Will it pull the trigger. A recent appointment by the Obama Regime points to executive action on amnesty as well as other issues where the Regime has been stymied by a Republican House of Representatives. (h/t Mark Levin)

WASHINGTON — President Obama, after a rocky year that leaves him at the lowest ebb of his presidency, is bringing into his White House circle the longtime Democratic strategist John D. Podesta, a former chief of staff for President Bill Clinton...
Mr. Podesta will help Mr. McDonough on matters related to the health care law, administration organization and executive actions, said a person familiar with the plans, and will focus in particular on climate change issues, a personal priority of Mr. Podesta’s.

So, the board has been set, pieces are in motion, the only question is the end game.  Amnesty by executive fiat in violation of the Constitution?  The tea leaves are showing amnesty.  The only question is what John Boehner will do.
